Well many of you may know I hate being over weight. I don't see myself in my head as I do in the mirror and it is really depressing so I have decided to do something about it. My goal is to lose 50 lbs over the next year (hopefully sooner but I don't want to get ahead of myself). So far I have lost 3 lbs and I haven't checked my inches yet to see any progress there.
I have been one week with no pop, or sugar and I can't believe the difference it has made in how I feel and I can see the fat shrinking. I am exercising in our home gym, lifting and cardio so I hope that it won't be long before I see bigger results.
Now the point of this is if you have any advice on things that have helped you please feel free to share them! I figure if people know I am trying to change my life style, with eating healthier and exercise I will hold myself more accountable!

My advice would be.....no late night snacking! I'm a big late night snacker and I couldn't believe the difference after a week or two of not munching late at night. I usually eat around 6 pm and that's it. No munchies after 6 pm. However....there is nothing wrong with cheating over the weekends. I was still able to lose weight, even if I cheated on a Friday or Saturday night. Good luck chica! I wish you the best! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Keep me posted!
Im glad you are putting this out there for people to hold you accountable! -and for yourself too! Im proud of you! I think you'll find that since you are in charge of what people eat around that house, others in your house will start being healthier too! Cool cool!
I am so proud of you for not drinking soda and eating sugars! That is so hard, that is something that I'm trying to kick as well.
As I watch The Biggest Looser I notice that they are always drinking water. Carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go. When I was pregnant with diabetes I had to stick to a very strick diet. Instead of eating 3 large meals in a day and then snacking between, try eating 6 smaller meals with higher fiber. Since you're working out make more protein choices to help build muscle (muscle building will help burn fat throughout the day). I keep crackers with peanut butter in my bag so if I get hungry when I'm out I can grab that instead of buckling in and buying a candy bar or donut.
Also, buy smaller plates and bowls. This little tip will help with portion sizes.
Dr. Oz on Oprah always talks about learning to read nutrition labels. Actually take out a measuring cup and measure a serving of ceral (or whatever you're eating) once and you'll be suprised how big (small) a serving really is.
I always try to keep a veggie tray (in my large round tupperware!) in the fridge to grab if I find myself standing in front of the fridge.
It's hard but making good food choices and portion sizes is a great place to start.
You probably know all this stuff but this is what I was thinking of when you asked for suggestions! I'll be watching to see how you are doing!!! I can't wait! Hang in there. Set realistic goals and stick to it!
